AH : Print work ideas

After reviewing the album cover for Mikill pane I believe that our print work should incorporate a similar format, using a minimalist style of print work. Mikill pane uses a single image in this case which is an idea we hope to emulate in our print work. The use of extra dietetic gaze is apparent through the artist looking directly at the camera which is also something we will consider when producing our print work.

Furthermore the use of the logo, in which this case is chalked into the floor is a feature which is going to be evident within ours, as it helps to distinguish the artist from others through his own unique logo.

In this case Mikill pane uses aspects such as mise en scene in terms of the location and props in order to reflect the notion of him being a 'school boy' through the use of his costume (uniform) as well as the location which appears to be a play ground. This helps to show the characteristics of Mikill Pane, due to the fact that he would consider himself to appeal to a younger generation, and he is a fairly comical character in terms of the content he uses within music videos, however, within music videos he presents himself using serious facial expressions. Therefore we are given two sides to the artist which we can connote through his costume in this case, where he is wearing a formal school uniform with his tie and top button done up, however his lower half of his body, he is wearing trainers and socks to help to juxtapose this formal and informal fashion.

We are possibly considering the idea of taking a shot from within our music video to use for our album cover. This is evident in many similar artworks of this genre of music, or possibly using images that relate to the song. Due to the fact that ours is about a relationship I am possibly considering using an image to relate to this, as it helps to represent the dominant ideologies of the music video, as well as the key theme of relationships.
