Mikill Pane- Somebody I used to know

For this production we like the idea of using reverse footage, as a form of disjunctive footage and we think that we could use footage of fire to reverse. Furthermore, the use of location we believe that an area such as a town or city would be useful, because locations such as these give us lots ideas for example citys  and towns would have lots of effective establishing shots that we could use. As well as giving it some sort of street style. The shots would include lots of close ups and mid shots of the artist featured when using amplified lyrics in order to lip sync to the track, so therefore we would adopt a typical approach to our music video.

Rudimental- Powerless

This video by Rudimental would be a good music video for the use of illustrative lyrics, which is normally a typical feature of Rudimentals music videos. The use of narrative would be effective in this production, as it allows us to be creative in the shots that we use and the footage of which we incorperate into our production. It includes a good variation in the tempo which whill allow us to alter the cutting rate within the production quite significantly from two variables, so therefore we could make use of montages. Rudimental also makes use of urban areas in a lot of their videos, so therefore we have lots of location ideas of where to film that are also easily accessible.

Adele- Rolling in the deep- (Jamie XX remix)

For this idea we wanted to do a disjunctive music video, of which uses a fast cutting rate, however we were going to incorperate the use of lip syncing to some parts of the track. We did also consider including reverse footage within this track.

Conclusion-

Overall, we have decided that the track we are going to use for our music video is Mikill Pane- Somebody I used to know. We believe this track is very useful in terms of the lyrics as we can experiment with them through the use of illustrative, amplified and disjunctive lyrics, as well as the use of narrative and performance. Therefore it gives us a lot of content and contextual information to include within the music video. The lyrics in this track are very effective due to the fact that its almost telling a story so therefore we can be both original through the use of amplification (acting out the narrative) and illustrative (adding a more creative effect and way of expressing the narrative). The use of locations we can use for this song are all very accessible and there's lots of places nearby we could film in. In terms of the costume, we would just use normal casual clothes similar to what the original artist (Mikill Pane) himself wears so that it gives the star a young look and appeals to a younger target audience.
